I had a funny problem on my IJ for quite some time but inconsistend. Yesterday when I had a few friends over it arised again and although I sorted it I thought it may be worthwhile to explain the problem and the solution here, in case somebody else should encounterr the same error:When 3 balls are locked in the Idol, they should come out one after the other together with the elephant noise. In my case the first ball came out , the idol turns and opens the rotor lock again where the ball was out already. The elephant noise continuesly goes on. If the ball drains the second ball comes out and the idol does not stop turning and the gate opens and closes and so on.
Obviously that is not right. So we started to check the Optos at the ball cage with the test routine and also with a digicam to see whther they are working just to make sure because the testprogram may show anything is fine although one optp may not work, so always hold the digicam onto them to see whether they are working. If you do not know what I mean let me know.
So the optos in the cage were ok. After that I checked the optos right before the ball is entering the idol. They worked. I tested the optos below the Idol and they worked as well (machine test is the only way you can test that as far as I know). If all the optos work, why do the balls not come out properly ?(. I thought about it a little beeing happy that it does not seem to be an electronical problem (I am really bad when it comes to electronical problems). So I checked the roll over switch right where ball comes down the little stainless ramp when it is realeased from the idol. I hit the nail on the head there. The switch did not operate properly. Unfortunately you have to take the whole ramp out to be able to acces the switch as it is recessed in the ramp. I fixed the switch and after that everything was working as it should. To me this is one of the more ridicules errors as they are hard to find because it is the last thing I would think of :).
Ich hatte ein Problem, schon seit einiger Zeit, was aber leider nicht immer auftrat. Als wir gestern hier einen Flippernachmittag hatten, kam natürlich auch der IJ mal dran. Das Problem trat wieder auf und ich habe es gelöst. Ich dachte es ist eine gute Idee es hier einmal zu schildern, falls jemand ein solches Problem auch mal hat:Wenn im Idol 3 Bälle eingelockt sind, sollten alle 3 Bälle zusammen mit dem Elefantengeschrei nacheienader ausgeworfen werden. Dem war aber nicht so. Der erste Ball kam raus, das Idol dreht sich an die Position zurück wo gerade der erste ball ausgeworfen wurde und öffnet das Rotorlock, obwohl kein Ball dort mehr ist. Das Elephantengeschrei geht unaufhörlich weiter. Wenn der Ball verspielt ist kommt die 2. Kugel, oder aber auch irgendwann und das Elefantengeschrei hört nicht auf, begleitet von ein paar anderen Dingen, die hier aber nicht zur Problemschilderung beitragen. Es kann auch sein, das wenn die erste Kugel verspielt ist der Flipper ne Kugel sucht. Irgendwann kommen aber alle raus etc.
Ich habe dann zunächst einmal die Optos in der Balltruhe geprüft, im Gerätetest und auch mit der Digicam, da der Gerätetest nach meiner Information nicht immer zuverlässig ist. Die Optos hier waren alle i.O. Danach habe ich die Optos getestet die gleich vor dem Idol liegen, auch o.k. und dann natürlich noch die Optos unter dem Idol über die Testfunktion, da die sich nicht anders testen lassen (soweit ich es herausfinden konnte). Alle Optos funktionierten ?(.
Froh darüber, daß es sich nicht um ein elektronisches Problem zu Handeln schien (denn davon habe ich so gar keine Ahnung) habe ich nochmal darüber nachgedacht, denn Fakt ist, daß der Ball nicht richtig erkannt wird. Also dachte ich mir, ich prüfe mal den Rolloverkontakt der in der kleinen Edelstahlrampe liegt wo die Bälle nach dem Auswurf aus dem Idollock drüberrollen, bevor Sie auf das Spielfeld gelangen. Volltreffer und der Abend war gerettet. Der Kontakt funzte nicht richtig. Leider kommt man an diesen Kontakt nicht dran um Ihn zu richten. Man muß die kleine dazu Rampe ausbauen, was ein paar Minuten Arbeit ist. Kontakt justieren und das wars. Manchmal sind es eben nur Kleinigkeiten. Auf die Idee mit dem Kontakt kam auch nur, da ich bei vielen Flippern immer wieder Fehlfunktionen hatte, bedingt durch nicht funktionierende Rolloverkontakte. In aller regel wirken sich die aber nicht so extrem aus und sind schnell auszumachen.
