    Tja es sieht so aus also ob Wayne the Braggard aka Mr. Pinball Australia aka The Pinball Factory es mit seinem Geschäftsgebahren und Drohgebärden geschafft hat die Konkurrenz zu vereinen. das habe ich gerade in der rgp gelesen. Bin gespannt was daraus wird.

    Pinball Enthusiasts

    Illinois Pin Ball Company is pleased to announce that the companies
    listed below have come together to form a strategic alliance. This
    alliance will be known as the NORTH AMERICAN PINBALL PARTS ALLIANCE.
    (NAPPA)

    The purpose of this alliance is for several companies to work in unison
    to bring pinball parts to market. It is our belief that by working
    together we will accomplish much more than we can by working
    separately. By utilizing the expertise of several companies and the
    vast resources of IPB, together we can bring parts to market at a
    faster rate and with the same high quality standards that have come to
    be expected by the collector market.

    Below is a list of the NAPPA partners

    Gene Cunningham - Illinois Pin Ball Company
    Darin Jacobs - Phoenix Arcade
    James Loflin - Pinball, Inc.
    Kerry Stair - Mantis Amusements

    These alliance partners working together in a warm spirit of total
    cooperation will shortly bring a vast number of new parts as well as
    many parts that had licensing issues to market.

    I'd like to thank our customers and our NAPPA partners for their
    continued support and cooperation.

  • So ein "Krieg" (im übertragenen) ist zwar nicht schön, aber zumindest zeigt das, daß man eben nicht alles machen kann, was man will . .. zumindest nicht lange, wenn noch etwas Leben drin ist. Und Gegenwind ist manchmal ganz nützlich für das "große Ganze". :2c:

  • Na ja ich denke auch nicht das Gene den Heiligenschein wirklich verdient hat. Da habe ich auch schon recht miese Geschichten in der rgp gelesen. Aber alles nicht so mies und von so vielen Seiten wie von dem Aussie. Der hat nur noch wenig bis keine Freunde. Mal schauen ob es der Anfang von Ende ist. Das Crack Hunter ein Erfolg wird oder überhaupt jemals über das Protostadium hinaus kommt glaube ich nicht.

  • Soviel ich weiß, kann Gene Geräte von Capcom, Alvin G und Teile dafür und/oder alles, was er unter seinem Namen komplett neu macht, verkaufen. Er kann/darf aber auch Bally/Williams Teile machen und verkaufen. Er kann/darf aber keine Bally/Williams Maschinen machen und/oder verkaufen.

    Wayne dagegen darf Bally/Williams Maschinen machen/verkaufen, ebenso Teile und alles (also Maschinen und Teile), was neu designed wird. (z.B.den Krokojäger)

    Da gibts ja Fotos von IPB wo in endlosen Regalen Cabinet Decals (z.B.MB, RFM, etc.) und hunderte, ja tausende Teile liegen. Ebenso die ganzen Guß/Ziehformen für diverse Spielfeldplastiken, -rampen etc.

    Oder liege ich da falsch?

    Zu hoffen ist aber, daß das Bestellsystem bei IPB in Zukunft besser funktioniert. Meine Hoffnungen liegen bei Kerry, der ziemlich engagiert ist.

    Several of the biggest producers of reproduction pinball parts have got together with the rights holder to form an alliance to increase the production of legal parts.

    Mantis Amusements. Phoenix Arcade and Pinball Inc have joined up with Illinois Pin Ball to form the North American Pinball Parts Alliance (NAPPA).

    Mantis Amusements produce a range of pinball products, notably their scoop and kickout hole protectors, Phoenix Arcade specialise in printing high quality decals and cabinet artwork while Pinball Inc manufacture several products but are best known for their improved replacement plastic ramps.

    The companies have pledged to work together, sharing manufacturing resources and using original tooling, documentation and artwork where available to create many more pinball products than would otherwise be possible on their own. They are also working on a single ordering system to make it easier to purchase the parts.

    By joining with Illinois Pin Ball, the companies can now make parts under licence ensuring they are fully legal. Any artwork from licensed themes will still require clearance from the rights holders but having a central point should help ease the process.

    Having access to the original molds should also reduce development time for parts. Pinball Inc's James Loughlin has said he expects to double his output this year as a result of being able to use the originals instead of making his own from scratch.

    Since October, when IPB's exclusive licence expired and The Pinball Factory was also able to sell original Williams parts, it has no longer been necessary for IPB to sell exclusively through the former Williams' distributor network. They can now sell through other retailers or sell themselves.

    It is possible other companies may also join the Alliance in the near future to expand the number and range of products coming out of the venture.
